Azar Energy Company, a manufacturer of refinery equipment, has a demand for one of the types of separators commonly used in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry: plate separators. These types of separators consist of parallel inclined plates spaced equally apart. They enhance the efficiency of liquid-liquid gravity separators. These plates create conditions that allow suspended droplets of the dispersed phase to come together on the plates, forming larger droplets that can more easily separate from the continuous phase due to gravitational force. The inclination of the plates facilitates the movement of phases toward the interface between them. The flow regime between the plates is necessarily calm for effective separation to occur. The angle and spacing of the plates are determined based on their design type. Typically, the angle of the plates can vary between 45 to 60 degrees, and the spacing between them can range from 10 to 100 millimeters.
